Join us at HMS for a special evening with Jennifer of @bookandachai, who’ll kick things off with a quick 15–20 minute Book Buzz featuring upcoming releases she’s excited about, what’s worth adding to your TBR, and a few books you’ll want to know about before everyone else does.
Then, we mahj.
After the book chat, we’ll settle in for a relaxed evening of social play around the HMS tables — good conversation, great company, and probably a few new book recommendations making their way around the room between hands.
No book to read ahead of time. No homework. Just come ready to talk books, play mahjong, and add a few titles to your list.

Players should already know how to play American mahjong independently and should bring their 2026 NMJL Card. Space for this event is limited.
