Mahjong 102: From Knowing the Rules to Playing with Confidence 🀄
You've learned the basics. You know your tiles, you've survived the Charleston, and you've played a few hands. But now what?
Mahjong 102 is designed to bridge the gap between learning the game and feeling confident playing it.
This next-step class is perfect for recent Mahjong 101 graduates and newer players who understand the fundamentals but still find themselves second-guessing decisions at the table.
We'll build on what you've already learned, focusing on:
Reading the NMJL card: Identifying potential hands and narrowing your options.
Making the most of the Charleston: Learning what to pass, what to keep, and why.
Choosing and changing hands: Recognizing when to commit to a hand and when it's time to pivot.
Building confidence at the table: Developing your decision-making skills and becoming a more independent player.
Through guided gameplay, practical instruction, and plenty of opportunities to ask questions, you'll begin to understand not just how to play mahjong, but why you're making certain moves.
Who should attend? Players who have completed Mahjong 101 or a beginner series and want additional guidance before jumping into independent open play.
This is not an introductory class. Participants should already be familiar with the tiles, basic rules, Charleston, and structure of the NMJL card.
The goal? Less second-guessing, more confidence, and a whole lot more mahjong.
